Head of Sport Physiology — PhD in Exercise Physiology. Lecturer of Physiology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Scientific Manager of the Greek Triathlon Federation.
Aris Myrkos holds a degree in Physical Education from Democritus University of Thrace, postgraduate studies there in Maximising Athletic Performance, and a doctoral degree in Exercise Physiology from the same institution. He lectures in Physiology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and is an active member of the Hellenic Society of Biochemistry and Exercise Physiology.
His research output comprises three dissertations, six scientific publications, 48 conference papers and 16 invited lectures. He is the author of studies published in scientific journals and speaks at international conferences and workshops in sport science.
Alongside the academic work he has spent 14 years as head coach at sciencetraining.gr, working with more than 800 athletes, and serves as Scientific Manager of the Greek Triathlon Federation. His applied work centres on ergometric evaluation and data analysis for athletes at every level, including professionals, and he has coached two national athletics championship victories.
He competes across half-marathons, marathons, ultramarathons and endurance cycling. He has 13 Ironman 70.3 finishes and five Ironman 140.6 finishes, and has completed extreme triathlons including Patagonman and the ICON Extreme Triathlon.
At DVOTION Labs, Aris provides scientific oversight of the metabolic testing programme. He reviews VO₂ max and blood lactate reports and checks that the protocols used align with current methodology.
