Complete Athlete Profiling

£800 · Two appointments

Resting metabolic rate, VO₂ max with blood lactate, movement and force plate testing, and sweat and hydration. Four assessments across two appointments, interpreted together in one report.

VO₂ Max Test

£160 · 1 hour

Expired gas analysis on the KORR CardioCoach MAX. VO₂ max, ventilatory thresholds, measured maximum heart rate, training zones, and estimated fuel use across exercise intensities. No blood sample.

Endurance Performance Profiling

£240 · About 90 minutes

A progressive blood lactate profile with LT1 and LT2, then a separate maximal test for aerobic capacity and the ventilatory responses. Zones in your own pace and heart rate.

Resting Metabolic Rate Assessment

£135 · 1 hour

Resting energy expenditure measured by indirect calorimetry rather than predicted from age, height, weight and sex. Your daily requirement is then estimated from that measured figure.

Sweat & Hydration Assessment

£150 · 90 minutes

A steady-state session of 45–60 minutes at an intensity relevant to your event, with fluid balance measured across it. Separates sweat rate, sweat sodium concentration and total sodium loss per hour.

Biomechanical Assessment

£300 · 1 hour

Recorded shoulder and hip measurements, standing analysis and loading tests interpreted together to identify movement strategy and relative motion availability. The findings guide movement and strength work, with a written report.

Force & Power Profile

£150 · 1 hour

How you produce force when the time to produce it is limited. Braking, the transition into propulsion, impulse, timing, velocity, power and each limb’s contribution, on Hawkin Dynamics force plates.

Movement & Force Production Strategy Assessment

£400 · 2 hours

The Biomechanical Assessment and the Force & Power Profile in one appointment, read together: what options you have, and how that strategy holds up when you have to produce force quickly.

Common questions

Which assessment should I book?

Start with the question you want to answer. VO₂ max and endurance testing help you set training intensities. Movement and force testing help you choose priorities for strength work. Resting metabolic rate and sweat testing inform fuelling and hydration. Complete Athlete Profiling brings these areas together across two appointments.

Do I need to be a competitive athlete?

No. You can book whether you are building your fitness, preparing for your first event or already competing. We discuss your goals and training background so the assessment and recommendations are relevant to you.

Can I book an assessment without coaching?

Yes. Every assessment can be booked on its own. You receive a written report and practical recommendations that you can use independently or share with your existing coach.

What will I receive after my assessment?

We explain your results and what they mean for your goals. Your written report records the findings and recommendations, giving you a reference for planning training and reviewing progress.

Does the VO₂ Max Test include blood lactate?

No. Blood lactate testing is included in Endurance Performance Profiling. This combines a progressive lactate test with a separate maximal VO₂ test to assess aerobic fitness and establish training zones. Resting metabolic rate is a separate assessment.

How much do assessments cost?

Assessments start at £135 for Resting Metabolic Rate. The VO₂ Max Test is £160 and Endurance Performance Profiling is £240. Each assessment page lists its price, duration and what is included, so you can compare the options before booking.

How long should I allow for testing?

The VO₂ Max Test, Biomechanical Assessment and Force & Power Profile each take about an hour. Endurance Performance Profiling and the Sweat & Hydration Assessment take about 90 minutes. Allow an hour for Resting Metabolic Rate, including a 20 to 30 minute resting measurement. Complete Athlete Profiling is spread across two appointments.

How should I prepare for my assessment?

Preparation depends on the assessment. Check the instructions on your chosen assessment page and in your booking information. Some tests require fasting; others require you to arrive fuelled. Contact us before your appointment if you are unsure.

Where does testing take place?

At UNTIL Liverpool Street, 280 Bishops Square, London EC2M 4RB, and UNTIL Marylebone, 1 Orchard Street, London W1H 6HJ. Assessments are available at both locations by appointment.

Can you help with my training after testing?

Yes. Our training programmes combine testing and coaching in one arrangement: Endurance Coaching over six months, Complete Performance for endurance and strength together, and Performance 365 across the full year. In-person coaching, Online Coaching and Endurance Programming are also available month to month.
