Movement Assessment · London
Structured movement and position assessment
Not a movement screen. A strategy-based assessment that identifies how your body organises pressure and shape, what restrictions are actually driven by, and what training direction makes sense. Available at UNTIL Liverpool Street and UNTIL Marylebone.
A screen tells you what is restricted. It rarely explains why — and the restriction is not the cause. It is the result of a strategy your body adopted to manage pressure when a better option was not available.
This assessment looks at what sits behind the restriction: how you organise pressure, what shape you use to contain and redirect force, and what your system is currently solving. Compensations are not faults; they are its current solution. Understanding what that solution is replacing is what makes a training direction meaningful.
Methodology
Strategy over screening
A practitioner-level model for understanding performance through position, pressure management, base of support and movement strategy. It is what this assessment is built on.
Six outputs from the assessment. Each is described once: what is looked at, and what it changes about how training is built.
How we measure it
Observed across a range of loaded and unloaded tasks.
Why it matters
This is the foundation that determines which movement options are available to you at all.
How we measure it
Whether it yields and reorganises, or stiffens and compensates.
Why it matters
Two athletes with the same restriction can behave very differently here, and need different work.
How we measure it
Separated into what is clean, what is compensated, and what is genuinely unavailable at this point in time.
Why it matters
Exercise selection follows from what is actually available rather than what should be.
How we measure it
The upstream reason a limitation exists, rather than the site where it shows up.
Why it matters
This is the difference between treating where it hurts and addressing why it is there.
How we measure it
Which constraints are driving the others, and which resolve on their own once those are addressed.
Why it matters
So training builds in a sequence rather than working on everything at once.
How we measure it
Your strategy and what was observed, explained in writing rather than summarised.
Why it matters
Includes the training direction and exercise recommendations matched to your sport and goals.
Brief background on your training, goals, any recurring limitations or patterns you have noticed.
Observation of how you move through a series of tasks and positions. No maximum effort required.
Assessment of the strategy your body is using — how it organises itself, what options are available, where constraints exist.
A clear explanation of what was found, why it matters and what direction training should take.
A full written report delivered after the session explaining the strategy, the findings and the recommended next steps.

What you get
A full written report covering your movement strategy, the findings and the recommended training direction — delivered after the session.
Findings explained in full during the session. You understand your strategy and what to do about it before you leave.
Clear priorities based on your strategy — what to address first and why, based on your individual assessment.
After the assessment
For people who have had the assessment and want to work on what it found. The aim is to restore movement capacity and availability, and to build back towards the level of activity you want to be doing. It is ongoing one-to-one work rather than a plan you are handed.
Both options include
Collected on the 1st of each month until you cancel, with no minimum term. If you start part-way through a month, the first payment covers only the days up to the 1st. Booked like any other session — you choose the site and time of the first one. If you would rather talk it through first, send an enquiry.
